Founder - ProducerKate has been working in the entertainment industry for over eighteen years, gaining experience at major agencies, studios, and production companies across development, financing, production, casting, sales, marketing and publicity. In each position, she has enjoyed subverting the expectation of her “female perspective.”
Resume
Kate launched Ladylike Pics as a development & production playground for the filmmakers and female-driven narratives she is known for championing. Under Ladylike, she is building a marketable slate of low-to-mid budget films currently set to star Maya Hawke, Billie Lourd, Mason Gooding, AnnaSophia Robb, Gwendoline Christie, and Andy Garcia amongst others. Kate also serves on the National and LA Boards for EPIC Players, a neurodiverse theatre company. She recently helped raise over $100k at their 2025 LA Cabaret fundraiser with guest stars Kristen Bell & Josh Gad.Prior to Ladylike, Kate served as SVP Film Development for the private equity financier SK Global (ANYONE BUT YOU, CRAZY RICH ASIANS) overseeing the development of smaller independently financed films and larger studio films alike. These included an adaptation of the book HIERARCHIES with Luckychap producing & Lynne Ramsay writing to direct, and BACCARAT MACHINE with Awkwafina starring & Jake Szymanski set to direct.
In 2020, Kate partnered with Blake Lively to launch Lively’s production company B for Effort, along with the non-profit program Group Effort Initiative. Together they built a slate of film & television projects focused on “fun, smart, and unexpected” stories and characters, often told through a feminine lens. This slate included three films they set up at Netflix based on IP: LADY KILLER, a comic by Joelle Jones to be adapted by Diablo Cody, WE USED TO LIVE HERE, a nosleep Reddit horror post by Marcus Kliewer to be adapted by Anna Chazelle, and DARK DAYS AT THE MAGNA CARTA, a short story by screenwriter Michael Paisley.
From 2016-2020, Kate worked at STX and oversaw a range of films each year through every stage of development and production. There she focused on pushing female-driven narratives forward, working on fourteen produced films during her nearly four years at the company. These included SECOND ACT, I FEEL PRETTY, ADRIFT, MOLLY’S GAME, and A BAD MOMS CHRISTMAS among others. Her last project at STX was overseeing the production and release of Lorene Scafaria’s box office hit HUSTLERS.
She previously worked at CAA and Good Universe, where she helped develop such films as BLOCKERS, DON’T BREATHE, NEIGHBORS 2: SORORITY RISING and THE DISASTER ARTIST. Kate started her career interning across various companies and departments on the Sony Pictures lot, including Laura Ziskin Productions and Screen Gems, while she was a student at Loyola Marymount University.
